Australia Vs India, 4th test

The Indian bowlers were going through the actions, and it wasn't helped by the defensive strategy by captain Virender Sehwag.
Earlier in the second session, Australia had been on the back foot after losing three wickets. But Ponting and Clarke grasped the upper hand as they added 116 runs. Clarke had a lucky escape on 39 when an outer edge off the bowling of Ishant Sharma went between wicketkeeper and second slip; surprisingly a first slip was missing. India's pace bowlers tried everything they could but the Australian duo completely dominated them throughout the last two sessions. Umesh Yadav had a day to forget as he was smashed all over the park by the Australian batsmen, conceding 87 from 12 overs.
. With good batting conditions expected, it was no surprise to see Clarke bat first, but the cunning of R Ashwin saw the hosts go to lunch on 98 for 3.
Ashwin was introduced as early as the fourth over by stand-in captain Sehwag and the offspinner did not disappoint. Two maiden overs quickly unsettled David Warner, who was trapped lbw by Zaheer Khan soon after. Ashwin then outfoxed an out-of-form Shaun Marsh, bowling him through the gate with the one that goes straight on, before luring Ed Cowan into a fateful drive shortly before lunch. Cowan had been the mainstay throughout the first session, quietly accumulating on his way to 30 before he was well caught by VVS Laxman at short extra cover.
The hosts are dying for a series whitewash, having taken a 3-0 lead in the series so far.
Centuries from Ricky Ponting and Australian skipper MichaelClarke nailed India as the hosts reached 335 for the loss of three wickets at the close of day one of the fourth Test match on Tuesday.
Former Australian captain Ponting scored his 41st Test century after completing 13,000 Test runs, becoming just the third batsmen after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to reach the landmark. Ponting has now scored a century in all three of the Test he has played against India in Adelaide, including 242 in a losing cause in 2003.

England VS Pakistan

England tour of United Arab Emirates,Pakistan won by 10 wickets in its 1st test series at
Mohsin came in as a breath of fresh air, for both the players and for the team management, who had seen enough of foreign coaches. Mohsin, together with the captain Misbah-ul-Haq who has an equally calm behavior, applied  sensible approach. They decided to take it one series at a time, beginning with the home contest against Sri Lanka, played in the UAE.
The faith shown by Mohsin and Ijaz Ahmed, the batting coach, on youngsters like Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq and Umar and Adnan Akmal paid off when they confirmed the three-Test series 1-0 and the ODIs by a 4-1 margin. Next, Pakistan cleaned up Bangladesh 2-0 in Tests and 3-0 in ODIs on another tour.
Keeping the players motivated is a tough task for a coach who knows his replacement is around the corner. And Mohsin, who represented Pakistan in 48 Tests and scored close to 3000 runs with a respectable average of just over 37, has done well in spite of being under that pressure. The batting was the main reason for the end result. Saeed Ajmal's 7 for 55 spun England out for 192 in the first innings, and then Pakistan took the lead by scoring 338. Umar Gul and Ajmal shared seven wickets in England's second innings of 160, and a ten-wicket win was achieved well before stumps on the third day.

Pakistan Vs England Test series

England scored 192 &are still batting while Pakistani’s score is 338.
Gul's aggressive bowling for 3-20 was helped by some dreadful shot selection from opener Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen, who departed while attempting shocking pull shots.
Before Gul's burst, Akmal had added precious 50 runs in an hour and a quarter after Pakistan resumed at 288-7 before being bowled out for 338.
Akmal hit eight boundaries in his career-best 61 that included two reverse swept fours off Graeme Swann, who finished with 4-107.
Fast bowler Umar Gul sliced through England with three cheap wickets for Pakistan to eye victory on Day Three of the first Test on Thursday.
After Adnan Akmal's gutsy half-century stretched Pakistan's first-innings lead to 146, England were on the way in their second innings at 75-5, still trailing by 71 runs.

Pakistan VS England

Ajmal won five decisions after England won the toss and elected to bat first at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with Matt Prior's determined knock of 70 .Pakistan openers Mohammad Hafeez  and Taufeeq Umar saw off 15 overs in the last hour of the day without too many problems in facing England's lone spinner GraemeSwann.
Captain Andrew Strauss , Ian Bell and KevinPietersen  departed within five of Ajmal's deliveries before lunch as England limped to 52-5.
After polishing off the top order before lunch, Ajmal trapped Eoin Morgan  and StuartBroad  lbw as both failed in their attempts to sweep the last year's top wicket-taker in Test cricket.
Morgan escaped a stumping chance off Ajmal just before the break. Ajmal continued to confuse the England batsman, and when he trapped last man James Anderson lbw he concealed his previous best of 6-42 against West Indies last year.
Prior added 57 precious runs for the eighth wicket with Swann before leftarm spinner Abdur Rehman broke the stand and closed England's innings with two more wickets.
Earlier, Strauss and Alastair Cook watchfully played out new ball bowlers Umar Gul and Aizaz Cheema before Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq called up his spinners in only the sixth over.
Hafeez responded in his very first over when Cook tried to cut the offspinner's third delivery and was caught behind by Adnan Akmal.
Akmal took another brilliant acrobatic catch down the leg side off fast bowler Aizaz Cheema's short delivery, which claimed a thick edge of Jonathan Trott's  bat.
But it was the introduction of Ajmal midway into the first session that hurried the England collapse.
Strauss hastily tried to pull Ajmal's fifth delivery only to knock back his off stump, then Bell attempted to defend Ajmal's straight delivery and thinly edged to Akmal.
Pietersen also struggled through 29 deliveries before Ajmal won the lbw decision thanks to the Decision Review System after onfield Australian umpire Ben Oxenford had originally turned down a loud appeal.
England opted to go in with three seamers  James Anderson, StuartBroad and Chris Tremlett  and may miss left-arm spinner Monty Panesar.
Panesar had impressed in a warmup match but England preferred Tremlett, who is playing his first Test since recovering from a back injury last August.

Four match series. Michael Clarke,Australian tema captain was declared Man of the match for his magnificent innings of 329 who was delighted with victory. Carrying on from their overnight score of 114 for 2, India started off in convincing fashion through Tendulkar, who struck boundaries at will through the offside.
However, the visitors lost Gautam Gambhir soon after. A leading edge from his bat off the bowling of Peter Siddle ended in the hands of David Warner, who completed an easy catch at backward point. Gambhir departed after playing a useful hand of 83 from 142 balls, and struck 11 boundaries on the way.
Tendulkar continued to be in great touch, bringing up his 65th half-century in Tests with a glance down to fine leg and exhibited the 'daylight' that has existed between him and the rest of the Indian batsman in the series so far.
He and VVS Laxman were in complete control, taking the team's score to 243 for 3 at lunch. After losing just Gambhir's wicket in the first session, the turn of events post lunch was truly disastrous to the Indian cause.
With his score on 80, Tendulkar frame a Clarke delivery to Hussey at first fall, Laxman, who had brought up his half-century a little while earlier, was then cleaned up by Hilfenhaus, as he played across the line to a delivery that pitched on off-stump and held its line. The Aussie fast bowler got into the act again, getting the wicket of Dhoni  although there was some confusion as to whether it was a bump ball or not, but replays confirmed that Dhoni had digged the ball straight into the hands of the bowler.
After terrorising the Indian batsmen in the first innings, Pattinson finally got his first wicket in the second essay by trapping ViratKohli lbw to a delivery that kept low. A few lusty hits by Zaheer Khan made for some interesting viewing, but with seven wickets down the writing was very much on the wall for the Indians.
The fireworks from Zaheer finally come to an end when he was dismissed by Siddle, who picked up his second wicket of the innings. Zaheer's innings lasted 26 balls which yielded 35 runs and included five fours and a six, before he backed away to a short delivery from Siddle only to hit it as far as Shaun Marsh in the cover region, who took a fine running catch.
Offspinner Nathan Lyon then got his first wicket of the match by trapping Ishant Sharma in front of his stumps.
Meanwhile with wickets falling at the other end, R Ashwin, who had brought up his fifty holed out to Lyon, who ran from mid-on to bring an end to India's misery. Ashwin made 62 before he became Hilfenhaus' fifth wicket.

Australia Vs India Day 2

The second test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket ground reached the score 484/2 by the Aussies. Skipper MichaelClarke has made hi double ton and  batsman Clarke  and Michael Hussey were the batsmen at the line at the end of play on the second day.
Carrying on from their overnight score of 116 for 3, the Aussies held the plan right from the beginning as Clarke and Ponting added 120 in the opening session, with the Aussie skipper bringing up his 18th Test century.
The Indian bowlers led by Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma, failed to provide the team with the much needed breakthrough early on. Ponting then brought up his first century in nearly two years
It was all about the Clarke-Ponting show from then on as both batsmen went about their cheerful ways until Ishant struck with the wicket of Ponting to end the epic 288-run stand for the fourth wicket.
The 23-year old pacer was finally rewarded for some persistent bowling in the right areas when he had Ponting play apishly at a delivery outside his off stump, for Sachin Tendulkar to complete a comfortable catch in the cover-point region. The Tasmanian struck 14 boundaries during his 225-ball stay.
The gentle celebrations brought about by Ponting’s dismissal were the only moment that belonged to the Indians in an otherwise terrible session in which 113 runs were approved The Australians were at their dominating best, predatory runs at will as Hussey got into the act.
Hussey smashed a six and seven fours during his 97-ball stay while Clarke finished the day with 31 boundaries and a maximum to his name, as the two added 157 runs to end a truly disastrous day in the field for the Indians.
