Colombo, Feb 28 (AFP): Jimmy Kamande Kenyan skipper clarified that the split between the players and their West Indian Coach Eldine Baptiste were the Issues which gather only after defeats.
Means he simply brushed aside the reports by saying so. Kenyan capital Nairobi reported that there were divisions within the squad. Kenya Cricket chief Samir Inamdar blamed that those differences were there because of Team’s dreary performances.
According to Kamande Even after two devastating World Cup disasters so far the team is united. He said that his team is very firm and they are all together as one before hi s third matches in Group A against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Tuesday. He also said that when a Team loses people try to find a way for excuses. There are no excuses on those lines, just that we haven't performed well so far and will try to do well in the rest of the games.
Kenya needs to know the basics right as they were shot out for 69 against New Zealand and 112 Against Pakistan in their matches, in Kamnade’s words. Apparently the team is not on top form .So there must some changes to be done like in batting order so that the team should not continue Doing the same thing and he also said that he doesn’t want to obscure the Cricket Game.
Sri Lanka, the captain said, were one of the top teams in the competition, in spite of their narrow defeat to Pakistan. Kamande said that they have a third game against a top side and they need to work hard to get a Good result. Hopefully he wants to get the best out of team players and the players should also realize the same.
Kenya defeated Sri Lanka in the 2003 World Cup, in Nairobi, but has a 4-1 losing record in ODIs between the two sides. Kamande said the pressure was on the 1996 champions.
Kamande said “Sri Lanka look solid up there, but we have nothing to lose. They are the ones who would be under pressure to perform at home and now obviously having lost to Pakistan it's a must-win game for them."
"We will try to put some pressure on them. We will try to go out there and bowl at a nice tight line and length and if we do it will add problems for the Sri Lankan side."
